Bill Murray tees off to a new career path

Bill Murray is known as being an actor, comedian and a writer. A good one at that. With big hits to his name from Goundhog Day, Stripes, Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and even the voice of Garfield, he’s certainly well known.

He’s  not normally known as a fashion icon. Rather the opposite in fact, with his often kooky choice of apparel. 

So it might be a surprise to hear that Bill, accompanied by his five brothers, has launched a fashion range, for golfers, called William Murray Golf.

Designed to introduce casual irreverence, according to the marketing, the latest spring range has been released and showcases a range of loud patterns and tropical prints. Chief executive Joel Murray said the clothing was intended to inject liveliness into the sport. The quote on their website from Bill Murray says it all; ‘The more relaxed you are, the better you are at everything.”

Bill, a regular on the golf course himself, has been seen wearing the designs, including at last years’ world series, when we wore a short sleeve polo covered in highball glasses, one of their best sellers. Below are more examples of him wearing the range. 

When the Murray boys were growing up they worked as caddies. It was part of the inspiration for the movie Caddyshack. Now it has inspired them once again. Currently the range has golf shorts, tshirts, polos and button up shirts, hats and accessories. They plan to release two collections a year and are looking at incorporating light jackets, blazers and pants into the range.
