This painless, across the board, cancer treatment works in under one hour!

Cancer is a word we don’t like. It’s a disease that takes so many loved ones away from us and that sees so many wonderful people go through horrific battles. It also is difficult to cure and while yes, it is possible, it isn’t a pleasant experience for anyone. However in some wonderful and promising news, a new breakthrough has found that there could be an alternative to radiation and chemotherapy, and it seems to be a lot less harsh!

Researchers from Rutgers University in the United States have found an ingredient in olive oil called oleocanthal actually kills human cancer cells without harming the healthy cells.

According to the Daily Mail, this ingredient works by rupturing a part of the cell called the lyosome, which acts as the cell’s waste dump. This releases proteins that cause it to die. In fact, it was so effective that when the researchers ran tests in the lab, the cells were dead within 30 minutes to an hour!

The healthy cells remain unharmed and instead go “to sleep”, according to Professor Paul Breslin who was involved in the study. He explained that after about 24 hours the healthy cells resumed their normal cycles.

The next stage is to trial this treatment on animals and watch for side effects however at the moment it is an incredibly promising study. Over the last decade several studies have found positive results when testing the impact olive oil in the diet has on cancer reduction and for the first time we could be understanding and harnessing just how valuable that information is.
