The lifehack that could help you in a medical emergency

There are a couple of things that tend to happen as you get older.

Firstly, your health may begin to decline. In some cases it may be minor things like vitamin and mineral deficiencies, or you may develop more serious conditions such as heart disease.

What follows the onset of these various medical complaints, is often medication. Once you’re over 60, there’s a good chance you’re feeling a little overwhelmed by the number of prescriptions and over the counter medications you’re supposed to be taking, and it’s completely understandable.

Or, if you’re one of the lucky ones who has so far managed to remain in great health, there’s a good chance you care for someone who isn’t so lucky. Whether it’s yourself, a partner, or a parent, this lifehack is one that could really save time and even a life in the event of an emergency.

If you find yourself in a medical emergency situation, whether it’s for yourself or someone you care for, you will be asked to list the medication’s they, or you are taking. And when it’s a long list, it’s hard enough to remember (did we mention your memory tends to fly out the window with the passing years?) without the added stress of the situation.

So try this. Snap a photo of all of your, or your loved one’s medications (or just a list of them) along with the dosages and times taken with your phone. This way, you’ll always have the list at hand so the medical professionals can treat you or your loved one quickly and without risking interactions with their other meds.
