Degenerative diseases are cruel and heartless, robbing someone of the movement and control they once mastered and making them feel helpless.

But as this wonderful short video shows, there is a way for sufferers of Parkinson’s disease to regain some of the control and movement they have lost, and in the most unlikely way.

Ballet classes provide the physical toning and exercise needed to halt the symptoms, but so much more besides.

Those who take the classes report feeling more free, more creative and more positive. In short, their quality of life improves and their happiness goes up.
