Put your feet first with these luxurious homemade treatments

You can easily look after your feet with home-made treatments.

We are on them all day, but they are quite often the last thing we think about when it comes to pampering; our feet.

But rather than complain about blisters, aching feet and rough heels, try these old-fashioned home remedies.

Soak sore feet

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons Epsom salts
  • 2 tablespoons bicarb soda
  • 3 tablespoons cooking salt
  • 3 drops rosemary oil

Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients in a large bowl
  2. Pour in enough hot water to cover your feet
  3. Soak feet for 20 minutes
  4. Pat down with a dry towel

Foot rub

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 5 tablespoons lavender oil
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil

Directions

  1. Mix ingredients in a large jar
  2. Stand in a saucepan of hot water and gently heat
  3. Stir regularly until mixture is warm hot, but before boiling
  4. Remove from heat and cool
  5. Place lid on jar and shake well
  6. Apply over feet (even better, get someone to do it for you)
  7. Pat down but no need to wash off

Athlete’s foot lotion

  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon tea tree oil
