New breakthroughs could see the fat disappear

In the battle to lose weight and live a healthier lifestyle, there are advancements all the time. Scientists and doctors from all over the world are conducting different experiments to help win the battle of the bulge.

Recently a study has concluded that has shown promising results in the ability to force fat cells to convert into energy for the body. A successful test on mice has identified an enzyme which triggers the cells into producing an amino acid which resulted in weight loss. It’s a pretty surprising discovery that could lead to clinical treatments for people suffering from obesity.

The researchers were also shocked that the mice that ate a high-fat diet still burned fat and had healthy weight loss just days later. There was no loss of muscle mass it was entirely fatty tissue.

While human studies are still a way off it does look promising and when combined with new research from a top cardiologist in the UK could mean a different lifestyle for a lot of people.

Dr Aseem Malhotra was feeling unhealthy. He was eating a high sugar diet of cereals, white toast and jam. It was starting to interfere with his job as why would anyone take advice from a person that couldn’t follow it himself. Dr Malhotra decided to change that by putting what he knew about nutrition to the test.

You have always been told that cutting down on fat, cholesterol, sugar, and meat is the path to a healthy diet. Dr Malhotra believes that there is only a half truth here. He dropped weight by changing to the low carb, healthy fat diet. The diet will have you cut sugar and starches from your diet but allowing you to eat healthier fats found in fish, meat, eggs, and dairy products.

The removal of sugar from your diet will bring improvements to your skin, mood, and concentration while also removing the “cravings” from your diet that make you indulge more than your body needs.

If you would like to read the entire journey that Dr Malhorta took he has written a comprehensive article for the UK Daily Mail.

As with any diet the real expert for your case is going to be your Doctor. Before you change anything about our diet or exercise you should consult your GP.

Do you think you could remove sugar completely from your diet? Have you already and have some great advice for those scared to make the leap? Wouldn’t you rather a magic pill that would make fat just disappear?
