Make your own constipation candy

We’ve all been backed up and all know how uncomfortable it is. You want to go but just can’t, so what can you do without taking medications?

We’ve found a recipe for ‘constipation candy’ that can help ease that pain without the awful cramps that laxatives can bring and without straining.

Remember, if you have constipation more than once every few weeks or have severe pain or bleeding, it’s important to get this checked out by your doctor. With that said, in most cases constipation is just a sign that your diet needs more fibre.

The coconut oil in this recipe has limited absorption in the small intestine, meaning it tends to pass right through the digestive tract. It is thought to support function and efficiency in the digestive tract.

All you need to take is two pieces then have two later on. You should see some relief in a few hours.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/4 cup of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon pink Himalayan salt

Plus a silicone mould and blender.

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender and pour into the mould.
  2. Set it in the freezer for an hour.
  3. Store in the fridge and enjoy as needed!
