Jeremy Clarkson hospitalised with serious illness

Jeremy Clarkson was enjoying a family holiday in Spain but has ended up in hospital instead.

It’s not the way you might expect the former Top Gear to end up there, like his accident prone co-stars. There was no vehicle involved and certainly no crash.

On this time he has been admitted due to pneumonia, and according to comments he’s made on social media he’ll be out of action for a while.

The 57-year-old posted a photo on Instagram, clearly showing that although he’s missing out on the holiday fun he hasn’t lost his sense of humour.

The picture, revealing medical tubes in his arm and an identity tag around his wrist was captioned “Not the sort of bangles I usually choose on holiday”.

A spokesperson for Clarkson’s Amazon Prime show, The Grand Tour said in a written statement that Clarkson “was admitted to hospital on Friday morning during a family holiday in Spain.”

Pneumonia is an infection of the lungs and can be serious, and even life threatening. Symptoms include a cough, fevers, difficulty breathing and a loss of appetite.

Clarkson was due to return to filming his new series next week but that’s been well and truly put on hold.

He’s admitted he’s annoyed about it too, saying he’s never had a day off work.

Again he’s showed you can’t get a good man down, by posting this image of co-presented James May on Instagram.
