How to get it up and on… Naturally!

Oct 30, 2014

Did you know that we are genetically wired to feel sexy in the summer?

This is basically due to the fact that there is more sunlight available to us, making us want to stay up longer in order to get busy, if you get my drift. The simple fact is that we are absorbing the light through our eyes, which in turn is sending messages up to the hypothalamus to release serotonin and other wonderful neuro-transmitters to make ourselves feel downright charming and making us get into the mood!

The fact is that sugar is in so much abundance at this time of the year, due to the easy availability to all the ripe summer fruits. By consuming these fruits for a short period of time, this in turn is sending the following message to our bodies – let’s have sex.

However, due to the dreaded alpha hormone, cortisol, many of us find it difficult at times to be in the mood for a bit of loving. Don’t despair, it is perfectly normal and in my research as a sex coach I have come across this very interesting bit of newly discovered information.

In the summer of 2008, Dr. Bhimu Patil of the Texas A&M Fruit and Vegetables Improvement Centre was studying the phytonutrient called Citrulline, which is found in large quantities in watermelons, especially the part of the white rind. Thanks to the good doctor Patil, we are now aware that Citrulline, like Viagra, has the power to relax the blood vessels and in turn allow good blood flow.

Let me explain this in very simple terms to you – the body converts “Citrulline” into “Arginine”, which in turn boosts your Nitric Oxide (NO) levels. Nitric oxide in turn relaxes the blood vessels very efficiently, allowing maximum blood flow within your body in general. Happy times then hopefully will flow from that simple body reaction, due to the raised Nitric Oxide levels. I do want to stress though, that this suggested elixir is not organ specific. i.e. you won’t get an engorged labia/clitoris and or a penis. Nevertheless, the overall effect on your relaxed vascular system can be very stimulating/pleasing, if ya know what I mean. Plus it is an incredibly refreshing and sexy drink.

This is not really surprising, considering the ordinary watermelon is one hell of a sexy fruit – it is lusciously pink in colour and the watermelon flesh is an emblem of hot summer days, where there is always lots of skin on display and hopefully lots of sex to be had!

Now let’s get down to making this simple aphrodisiac:

1. Cut up enough watermelon including the white rind part. You can leave the green skin on if it has been organically grown. Put the watermelon into a Nutribullet or similar blender and blend it thoroughly until you have about 1 litre of juice. This contains the most amazing amounts of magnesium, potassium and zinc and not forgetting a very good quantity of anti-oxidants like Vitamin C, lycopene and beta-carotene.

You can drink this juice immediately with a sprig of mint, but if you want a more potent version – carry on with the preparation:

2. Transfer the liquid into a heavy saucepan and allow it to simmer for about 10 mins. Add the juice of 2-3 lemons, depending on their size. Now allow these combined juices to reduce slowly by further cooking it very slowly until almost all the liquid is evaporated and you are just left with what looks like watermelon pulp approx. i.e. the amount of juice left should be about half of what you have started out with

3. Allow it to cool and pour into a glass jar and refrigerate.

This great “get in the mood” potion seems to work best when taken on an empty stomach i.e. for example in the morning before breakfast or before dinner at night.

4. The dosage depends on your body weight but can be anything between 2 tablespoons to 1/3 cup. Please be aware that watermelons can also have a diuretic effect. I would suggest starting with a small dose and then increase it, provided you don’t have an issue. You don’t want to spend excessive time on the toilet now, do you? That would definitely defeat the entire purpose of this elixir!!!

If you have a serious medical issue, for example cancer or diabetes, please consult your doctor or health care practitioner before using this sexy elixir, otherwise, happy days and nights!
