Ditching the excess fat to feel sexier and healthier

Oct 17, 2014

Do you feel really sexy?

The conundrum that most women or men are often confronted with, and one of the reasons many of us don’t feel sexy, or at least sexy enough to want to have sex, is excess weight.

I am sure you agree that one doesn’t need to be excessively overweight to have trouble achieving that pizzazz feeling when you are looking at yourself in the mirror. Your eyes almost always get instantaneously drawn to the little bulges here and there, making you feel less attractive.

I know firsthand how that feels. After my total hysterectomy, I started piling on the weight and, having been slim all throughout my life, this came as a total shock to me and I consequently also felt less desirable. However, luckily for me, I was able to shift those bulges much more easily than I had expected – and to prove it, that is me in the below photo!

Luckily for me, I have a close friend and first class nutritionist, who herself is also still slim and juicy, even though she has reached the latter part of her 60s. She taught me about the importance of eating good fats, particularly the benefits of coconut oil. Different health specialists over the past years, such as the famous Dr. Weston A. Price in the last century and as of late the excellent Dr. Mary Enig, author of “Eat Fat, Lose Fat,” have been praising the virtues of this exotic oil.

Let me briefly explain the 3 different types of fats to you:

  • Saturated fat – predominantly found in animal fats, butter and in the tropical oils like coconut oil and palm oil.
  • Monounsaturated fats – mostly found in olive and sesame oil as well as almond, pecans, cashews, peanuts and avocados.
  • Polyunsaturated fats – found in vegetable oils such as corn, safflower, soy and sunflower oils.

The most dangerous are the polyunsaturated fats, which have been bombarded via a highly industrialised process with hydrogen, turning them into trans fats, and allowing them to be more stable and most importantly, to have a longer shelf life. This has made these trans fats (processed polyunsaturated vegetable oils) very appealing to the food manufacturers, as it makes their produce last almost indefinitely and, fortuitously for them, it is also much, much cheaper than good expensive animal fats, tropical oils or even good ol’ fashioned butter.

These altered trans fats, according to Dr. Mary Enig and many other 21st century enlightened scientists, can increase your cholesterol levels and lead to heart disease, compromise your hormonal synthesis, tissue repair, overall immune function and the insulin metabolism and many more serious diseases, but most importantly: they will promote weight gain.

So if you want to reclaim your body and get that sexy feeling back, I would recommend you read Dr. Mary Enig’s book “Eat Fat, Lose Fat” or simply include some coconut oil, palm kernel oil or good quality butter in your cooking.

In case you are sceptical of saturated fats after they have been vilified for many decades, a March 2014 meta-analysis of studies involving over 650,000 participants concluded there was no increased risk of coronary heart disease from consuming saturated fats. Additional information with regards to the fat-burning properties of coconut oilcan be found here.

I managed to shift those bulges appearing after my hysterectomy by simply eating lots of nutritiously dense foods, exercising a little but most importantly, I consume 1-2 tablespoons of coconut oil before each meal every day.

This simple act of taking coconut oil daily ensures that my bulges do not make a reappearance – now how simple is that? By the way, many of my clients have not developed overly healthy eating habits, yet they have all noticed a reduction of their unwanted “bulges” since incorporating this easy protocol into their daily routine. This is due to the fact that the coconut oil will make you feel satiated very quickly and you therefore consume less food (less calories = the fat deposits literally melt away). Now ain’t that ingenious?

What have you got to lose? Why not buy some coconut oil, take 1-2 tablespoons, 2-3 times per day, 10-20 mins before each meal and watch that mirror!

Happy days and nights!
