Autopsy confirms cause of George Michael’s death

George Michael died on Christmas Day, 2016.

An autopsy has confirmed what caused the death of legendary British pop star George Michael.

Oxfordshire’s senior coroner Darren Salter, who investigated the singer’s death, issued a statement that said Michael died of natural causes when his heart and kidney failed.

“As there is a confirmed natural cause of death, being dilated cardiomyopathy with myocarditis and fatty liver, the investigation is being discontinued and there is no need for an inquest or any further inquiries,” Mr Salter said.

The 53-year-old was found dead at his home in Goring-on-Thames on Christmas Day.

Michael’s Australian lover Fadi Fawaz, 43, tweeted following the coroner’s statement that the truth was now out.

“All the nasty comments, press and 999 were very cruel and unnecessary whatsoever, Now I hope to receive some real LOVE x.”

Last month it was reported that Fadi had been banned from George’s funeral amid a family fued.
