With so many sweet variations available to buy at the supermarket these days, it can be very easy to forget about some of your old favourites.
For example, the classic peanut brittle!
Do you remember eating this delicious, nutty, caramel treat, getting it all stuck in your teeth (in the tastiest way!)? How long has in been since you indulged in this classic sweet?
Well now, you can make this old favourite easily at home, and the best part is how simple it is!
With only a few ingredients, one bowl, and a microwave required, you’ll be tucking in in no time at all!
The only trouble is trying to stop yourself eating it all at once!
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup peanuts
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
1. Line a baking tray with nonstick baking paper.
2. Combine sugar and syrup in a microwave safe dish, and microwave on high for 5 minutes.
3. Add butter, vanilla, and peanuts and stir. Microwave on high for 1 minute and 30 seconds.
4. Remove from microwave and quickly stir in baking soda. Immediately pour the mixture out onto the baking tray and spread out into a rectangle. Allow to cool for 1 hour before breaking into shards. Enjoy!
