Chocolate Easter nests

If you’re on school holiday babysitting duty this week, these gorgeous little chocolate Easter egg nests are a fun and simple way to get the grandkids busy in the kitchen. With few ingredients and not too much difficulty involved, they will love making these little treats almost as much as they enjoy eating them. A little tip from us: Let the kids eat them just in time to go home to their mum and dad. You’ll get all the credit for the fun sweets without any of the fallout from the sugar high!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry chow mein noodles
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup butterscotch chips
  • 1 bag candy-shelled Easter eggs

Method

  1. Place the chocolate and butterscotch chips in a microwave safe bowl or jug and melt in the microwave (stirring regularly).
  2. Place the noodles in a large mixing bowl and pour the melted chocolate mixture over the top (reserve about 1 tablespoon of the melted chocolate for later).
  3. Stir until noodles are coated.
  4. Spray a silicone muffin pan with non-stick cooking spray, and then add a large spoonful of mixture to each cup. Press lightly in the centre of each to create the nest shape.
  5. Dip the candy-shelled Easter eggs in the remaining melted chocolate and place them in the nests.
  6. Refrigerate until chocolate is set.
