1. Soothe dry or chapped lips

It might not taste very good (you certainly shouldn’t lick your lips while it’s on) but Vicks VapoRub is actually handy for soothing dry or chapped lips. Next time you can’t find your chapstick or lip balm, just use Vicks instead. Just a rub a little bit on your lips and it’ll have the same hydrating and exfoliating effect as lip balm.

2. Grease up door hinges

If you’ve got creaky doors or doors that are very stiff, then chances are they need greasing. But what if you don’t have any Wd-40 or lubricating oil? Well, you can just use your Vicks VapoRub instead! Just grease up the hinges with a generous amount of Vicks VapoRub and your door should be far less creaky or stiff than it was before.

3. Relieve foot pain

As you get older, a day on your feet can really make them ache. So, after a day being on your feet all day try rubbing them with Vicks VapoRub. Just rub it on before you go bed in a gentle, massage like motion and throw a pair of socks on over the top. You should wake up in the morning with softer, refreshed feet.

4. Make your own slimming cream

Some people swear by using Vicks VapoRub to make a ‘slimming cream’. Apparently rubbing Vicks on certain areas of your body, such as your thighs, can stimulate fat burning. It’s also hailed as helpful in reducing jowls, eliminating cellulite and firming up your skin. To make the cream, just mix some Vicks VapoRub with rubbing alcohol, baking soda and camphor. All you need to just is rub the cream where you want it to work and cover the area with plastic wrap.

5. Clear up stretch marks

If you’ve got stretch marks then you’ve probably tried a hundred different ways to get rid of them. Apparently, the menthol in Vicks VapoRub is a great way of reducing stetch marks. Applying some Vicks to your stretch marks daily can help them fade and clear up over time.

6. Soothe an earache

While it might not be able to heal an ear infection, Vicks VapoRub can certainly soothe some of the pain. Try putting some Vicks on a cotton ball and putting the cotton ball in your ears for a few hours each day over the period of a few days. The VapoRub will help ease the pressure and the pain, just like it works with a cold when you rub it on your chest.

7. Clear up acne and blackheads

Let’s face it, acne and blackheads aren’t just for teens! If you have unsightly blackheads or acne that you want to clear up then Vicks VapoRub can come in handy. Apparently, a dab of Vicks VapoRub can help a range of skin blemishes. All you need to do is apply a little bit to your blemish before you go to bed and in the morning your acne or blackheads should be clearer than what they were. In some cases VapoRub has even completely cleared blemishes on people’s face!

8. Get rid of warts

That’s right, Vicks VapoRub is apparently renowned for getting rid of warts. Just apply some of the VapoRub to your warts and cover them with a bandage or sock. Keep applying the Vicks twice a day for two weeks and your wart should disappear completely.
