The Chase is arguably one of the most loved quiz shows in Australia and an episode that aired on the UK version recently could go down as one of the funniest in the history of the show.

Host of the British series Bradley Walsh couldn’t contain himself during one of the rounds, sending Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, the studio audience and millions of viewers watching at home into fits of laughter too.

It all started when Bradley was given the important task of asking contestant Charles a question about marine life.

“Which if these is not a genuine species of starfish,” the 58-year-old asked.

The contestant had the choice of the goose foot starfish, the red-knobbed starfish or the chocolate starfish. Bradley managed to get the first two possible answers out, but struggled when it came to saying “chocolate starfish” aloud.

He began giggling, before keeling over laughing at the answer – which has very rude connotations. The audience then began to laugh and Bradley completely lost it when he looked up at Anne, who was shaking as she tried to control her laughter.

The contestant ended up picking chocolate starfish as his answer, which set the host off even further.

“What made you put that?” he laughed.

Charles, who was also laughing, had a hilarious response for Bradley.

“Funnily enough, it’s the only starfish I’ve heard of,” he said.

It turned out the answer was correct.

Still, viewers at home couldn’t get enough of the hilarious moment and uploaded footage of the hilarious moment to social media.

“Another classic Bradley moment,” one viewer wrote.

Another said: “It’s not often you see ‘chocolate starfish’ as an answer on a tv quiz. That’s why I love #TheChase.”

A third added: “Getting chocolate starfish into a daytime quiz show. Question writer deserves a bonus.”

It’s not the first time Bradley has lost it when it comes to his hosting duties. One of the most iconic clips from the show occurred when Bradley had to ask “In what sport does Fanny Chmelar compete for Germany?”

Because the name sounded slightly inappropriate, neither Bradley, the contestants or Anne could hold it together. At one point during that episode, Bradley even burst into tears because he was laughing so hard.

“We’re gonna make a rule now, never say her name again,” he laughed. “I’d be straight down the court in the morning if that was my name. I’d have that changed straight away.”
