There’s no guessing where Nicole Kidman got her good looks from

Nicole Kidman has shared a throwback photo of her mother in her younger years, and the resemblance between the two women is striking.

The actress  posted a touching birthday tribute to her mother Janelle Ann Kidman, captioning the image: “Happy birthday to my beautiful Mumma. You’ve loved me, guided me and taught me and I am so blessed to have you. Your devoted daughter”.

In the black-and-white image, Janelle has a slim, straight nose, arched eyebrows and a defined jawline – all very similar to her 50-year-old daughter’s features – and it wasn’t long before fans commented on the physical similarities between a young Janelle and the Aussie-born actress.

One user wrote, “You got your mums face and your mums hands for sure,” while another added, “She looks a lot like you, happy birthday to her,” and a third wrote, “… wow, you look so much like her … it’s like looking in the mirror! Happy birthday to your mama.”

Kidman often praises her mother, this year leaving viewers in tears with an emotional speech after winning a Golden Globe in which she lauded Janelle’s support of women’s rights.  “My mumma was an advocate for the women’s movement when I was growing up, and because of her I’m standing here. My achievements are her achievements,” she said.  “Antonia Kidman, my sister, and I say thank you Janelle Kidman for what you fought for so hard.”

Nicole joined a stream of stars who wore all-black at the red carpet the Globes bash in support of the ‘Time’s Up’ campaign against sexual harassment. And she was a strong contender for best dressed on the night, wearing a  skintight dress.

The ‘Time’s Up’ campaign was set up by a group of more than 300 women, both in and outside of the Hollywood movie industry, that has set up a $16.5 million legal defence fund for less-privileged women who have fallen victim to sexual harassment, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.

What are your thoughts? Can you see the resemblance? Do you look like your mum?
