How Clean Is Your House star Kim Woodburn made a name for herself as a glamorous cleaning lady who, alongside co-star Aggie McKenzie, helped people to overhaul their filthy homes, but it is her fiery temper that has garnered the most attention in recent years.
The 76-year-old television star stormed off the set of UK daytime chat show Loose Women on Wednesday after a heated row with panellist Coleen Nolan, who lived alongside Kim in the Celebrity Big Brother house in January 2017.
Branding Coleen two-faced and a bully, Kim said she didn’t want to appear on the show, where Coleen is a regular panelist, but agreed to do so because of the generous sum she was paid.
Then, following an emotional outburst about her “brutal, terrible” childhood, which Kim spoke openly about following her time on the Channel 5 reality show, Kim got out of her seat and stormed off the stage, despite the best efforts of Coleen’s fellow panelists who attempted to calm their guest down.
“I had a very, very sad childhood. I had a brutal childhood, terrible,” Kim sobbed. “I can’t describe what I went through. I went on Big Brother and all those memories came back, I was very upset in the house and I pretended I wasn’t. They picked on me.”
The episode of the ITV show was billed as a “reconciliation between Coleen and Kim” after they publicly fell out, with Kim saying Coleen had “put her through hell on this earth” during their time in the house together. However, Coleen maintains that Kim is “a witch” and said she was always gunning for a fight with her fellow housemates.
“She came in like a demon from day one,” Coleen said. “I was trying to keep the peace and then gradually I just couldn’t stand it anymore.
“The way she’s just come out now was the way she woke up every morning, she just wanted to go at people all the time. The fact that she can come out here with everyone that’s on this panel and have a go at Linda Robson, who is the nicest women i’ve ever met in my life. You’re just antagonistic, you’ve come out for a row.”
Kim responded by saying: “I’m leaving the stage because this is lunatic.” To which Coleen responded by branding Kim as “vile”, saying: “You’re a horrible, self-centred, publicity seeking witch”.
Kim refused to draw a line under her disagreement with Coleen, 53, and has since called for the former pop star – and her sister Linda, 59 – to be sacked from the popular ITV show.
Speaking to The Sun Online, she said: “I was ambushed, it was disgusting. It was like a circus and I was there for some cruel entertainment. I want Coleen and her sister fired.
A spokesperson for Coleen, who shot to fame as a member of 1960s British girl group The Nolans, said after the show: “For clarity – Coleen did not ask for Kim Woodburn to come on the show nor ask to be reunited with her. Loose Women organised the show. Coleen has no say in their choice of guests – Coleen stayed as calm as possible whilst being insulted live on air which was incredibly unpleasant.”
