Grant Denyer and Amanda Keller are preparing for a grand entrance onto the dancing stage, however, they are leaving their dancing shoes behind this time as they take on the roles of hosts on Channel 10’s reboot of Dancing With The Stars.
The two braced the screens as competitors over 10 years ago with Denyer claiming the winning trophy in 2006, while Keller found it slightly more difficult to master the tricky combinations, walking away early on in the series the following year.
Speaking with Confidential, Keller said while colleague Denyer won the hearts of many, for his dancing abilities she is happy to stay side stage as a host next year.
“He [Denyer] won, he is good. I enjoyed the dances but wasn’t that good at doing them and was voted off pretty early. I recently found my old dancing shoes and was thinking of burning them. It was that bad,” she joked.
The popular show, that sees a range of celebrities, fox trot, waltz and cha cha their way across the stage was only recently grabbed by Channel 10 after it was axed from Channel 7 after 15 series.
From Ada Nicodemou and Johnny Ruffo to Manu Fieldel and Kate Ceberano, celebrities from all walks of life have popped on their dancing shoes over the years.
When asked who he would like to see slip on the dancing shoes in future series’ of the show, Denyer gave a perhaps surprising answer.
The 40-year-old television presenter suggested convicted drug smuggler Schapelle Corby as a possible contestant, claiming she would bring “a mountain of drama”.
Meanwhile, Keller hoped to see the likes of Barack and Michelle Obama and possibly Donald Trump make an appearance.
No matter who takes to the stage, Denyer remained convinced fans would see a primed and polished show when it braces the screens next year.
“I can guarantee this will be a refreshed, glossier, sexier and more shiny version,” he told Confidential.
