It was predicted that Nicole Kidman would be nominated for an Emmy for her role in Big Little Lies.
That prediction proved correct with the official announcement she is up for Best Actress in a TV movie or Limited Series.
She’s up against both Jessica Lange and Susan Sarandon in Feud: Bette and Joan and her own co-star Reese Witherspoon, but critics are still saying Kidman is their pick for the win.
Kidman is not the only Aussie on the Emmy nomination list.
Geoffrey Rush is up for Lead Actor in a Limited Series or TV Movie for playing Albert Einstein in Genius.
Judy Davis is there too, for Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie, for her role as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper in Feud: Bette and Joan.
Amongst the popular shows, Big Little Lies, Feud: Bette and Joan and Genius are all up for Limited Series against Fargo and The Night Of, while The Crown, The Handmaid’s Tale and House of Cards are in the list for Drama Series, with Better Call Saul, Stranger Things, This is Us and Westworld also on the list.
In Comedy Series the nominees are Atlanta, black-ish, Master of None, Modern Family, Silicon Valley, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Veep.
Winners will be announced on September 17.
