Hugh Jackman addresses secret marriage rumours

Hugh Jackman, pictured here in Russia in 2015, has slammed rumours about him and his wife.

Hugh Jackman and his wife of 21 years Deborra-Lee Furness have slammed rumours that they had a “secret second wedding” while holidaying in Western Australia.

A representative of the actor was quick to shut down the rumours after it was reported in Woman’s Day that the couple were renewing their vows at Kerry Stokes’ house in Cable Beach.

The publication reported on Monday that Jackman, 48, and Furness, 61, renewed their vows in Broome with a $250,000 ring purchased by the Aussie star.

The expensive ring was supposedly engraved by Jackman with the quote “for yesterday’s memories, today’s love and tomorrow’s dreams”.

The source who provided the information claimed to be a “friend” of the couple however, Jackman’s representative, Michele Schweitzer, released a statement saying “that report is completely made up”.

Schweitzer slammed the reports.

“The Jackman family were in Broome on holiday,” she wrote in a statement to Daily Mail Australia. “There was no ‘secret second wedding’.”

The pair have instead been busy attending red carpet events including the Melbourne International Film Festival where they viewed a screening of Furness’ 1987 film Shame.

The loved-up couple have been married since 1996 after meeting on the Australian TV show Corelli

They share their adopted children Oscar Maximilian, 17, and Ava Eliot, 12 who live with them in their New York home.

Despite not renewing their vows, Jackman and Furness publicly declared their love for each other when Jackman took to social media to show off their romantic trip to Bondi Beach.
