In conversation with author Anita Heiss

Dec 05, 2016

A few years ago I went to the BWF (Brisbane Writer’s Festival) to listen to one of my literary heroes – the wonderful Liz Byrski. On the panel with Liz was Anita Heiss, a woman I knew from her book Am I Black Enough for You; I say knew, although I hadn’t actually read her book.

Remember the ad where the man said he was so impressed with a product he bought the company?  Well the panel discussion that day left me wanting to hear more from this funny, passionate, articulate woman, so I went out and bought her fiction book Tiddas, together with the non-fiction Am I Black Enough for You.

When I saw the programme for the 2016 BWF, I immediately booked into The Talking Circle to hear Anita speak about her new novel Barbed Wire and Cherry Blossoms and I am so thrilled she accepted our invitation to join the Conversation on Starts at 60.
