The new fourth season brings a beautiful balance of melodrama and Australian history, with more romance, intrigue and secrets than ever before. The show’s original writers and cast return in top form, including Logie Award® nominated Marta Dusseldorp (Janet King, Jack Iris) and multiple Logie Award®-winner Noni Hazlehurst (City Homicide, Candy).

It is 1958 and four years have passed since we left Sarah (Dusseldorp) and the Bligh family. Those four years have seen ever-increasing changes in Australian society. The world of wealth and privilege is being eroded, moral values are fraying and a new young generation rises full of disaffection with the world of their elders. To them the War is a matter of the dead past, bringing conflict with those who suffered its pain and deprivation.

No one is left untouched and the Bligh manor is in disarray. George’s (Brett Climo, A Country Practice) malicious new wife Regina (Jenni Baird, All Saints) meets her match in Sarah, who suspects her of a local murder. Meanwhile, the fate of James (David Berry, Home and Away) and Henry’s (Tim Draxl, A Few Best Men) relationship hangs in the air as Olivia (Arianwen Parkes-Lockwood, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries) threatens to flee the country with her son, and steely matriarch Elizabeth Bligh’s (Hazlehurst) struggles to keep her family together. In the midst of all the turmoil, love becomes the only sure place anyone can call home.
