Weird video gives a peek at how beloved music stars would’ve aged

At 82, Elvis Presley's no longer a brunette but the lip-curl is still there.

Some of the finest musical talent of recent times died tragically young, but technology means that we can now see what they would’ve looked like had they hit their 60s and 70s.

A photo restoration company called Phojoe worked with Sachs Media Group to take snaps of stars such as Elvis Presley, John Lennon, the Beach Boys’ Dennis Wilson, Bobby Darin and Janis Joplin, and ‘age’ them to see how they’d look right now if they hadn’t died young.

Elvis, who died of a heart attack at just 42, is probably the least surprising. The King at 82 retains his trademark quiff and curled-lip smile, but looks a little longer in the tooth and a bit more weathered.

John Lennon, meanwhile, at the age of 76, looks more like a university professor than a music icon, with beetle-brows and heavy eyelids, combined with a shorter version of his bowl cut.

The photographic manipulators have been kind to Janis Joplin, who was already looking older than her 27 years when she died. Aged 74 in the touched-up photo, Janis looks more like the lady next door than the hard-living rock star that she was.

‘Mama’ Cass Elliot of The Mamas and the Pappas, who’d be 76 if she hadn’t died of heart failure in her sleep at just 32, is depicted as having aged least well, with multiple chins that are reminiscent of the recent unflattering photos of Donald Trump’s sons.

What do you think of the ‘aged’ photos – probably accurate or way off?
