Prince Harry has been drawn to a photo of his late mother, on a recent tour of Nelson Mandela’s private archive. The photo was originally captured in 1997, when Diana Princess of Wales and Nelson Mandela met in Cape Town, just two short months before her untimely death.

Harry appeared to be moved by the photograph, with on-lookers describing how he walked straight towards it, and asked what year it was captured. The Prince described “happy smiles, big smiles” on the faces of Diana and Mandela, and he lingered with the photograph for a time.

This is the latest incidence where Prince Harry has shown his sensitive side. Yesterday, the Prince was photographed hugging a sedated rhinoceros at the Kruger National Park.

He explained the photograph via Instagram: “After a very long day in Kruger National Park, with five rhinos sent to new homes and three elephants freed from their collars – like this sedated female – I decided to take a moment,” the prince wrote.

“I know how lucky I am to have these experiences, but hearing stories from people on the ground about how bad the situation really is, upset and frustrated me. How can it be that 30,000 elephants were slaughtered last year alone? None of them had names, so do we not care? And for what? Their tusks?”

“Seeing huge carcasses of rhinos and elephants scattered across Africa, with their horns and tusks missing is a pointless waste of beauty,” the prince finished off.

  1. I would also like to have seen the photo he was actually drawn to. Prince or pauper, losing a parent never leaves you!

  2. Shirley Sanson

Look I love the royals but am really tired of so many Harry and Dianna stories it’s also easy to see Charles is not his blood father.

Have a look at their eyes. Charles & Harry have the same distinctive eyes.

  3. I truly like this boy. Not because he’s a Prince, but because he’s got a GIANT heart <3
