Prince Harry reminds us why we’ve got a soft spot for him

Prince Harry has given an inspirational speech to young war veterans at the British team trials for the upcoming Invictus Games. The young royal’s empathy and passion reminds us why we’ve got a soft spot for Prince Harry!

The Invictus Games will allow sick or injured military personnel and veterans to compete across 10 sports. The upcoming games will be held in Orlando (USA) but these latest trials were for 100 places available with the British national team.

This major sporting event, the first of its kind, has been personally championed by Prince Harry. The young royal has been rewarded by “the chance to bring (veterans) all together so you share some stories and some banter and get yourself into a bit of trouble”.

“It’s not necessarily about selection but it’s about the whole piece. The way it’s fixing you, whether it’s mental or physical. To be able to be in this process. That’s what it’s all about for us, what it always has been about”, Prince Harry told Invictus competitors.

You will be unbelievably amazed by the amount of support there is out there for you.” “You are now or will be ambassadors for the Invictus shirt, and the Invictus spirit. Wherever you go and whatever you do, spread the word.” Prince Harry was speaking to competitors at the UK team trials for @invictusorlando 2016. The Prince also spoke about Henry Worsley, describing him as the “definition of selfless commitment.” “He put his life on the line. This person was raising funds for the Endeavour Fund so people like you can do amazing things and rediscover yourselves. Thanks to him we have huge options for more and more people.”
