Nicole Kidman embraces classic elegance at awards ceremony

Nicole's fashion winning streak continues

All eyes were on Nicole Kidman at the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Awards in New York City.

While many celebrity guests dazzled in bright orange, red and pink tones, Nicole opted for a more refined look, donning a $12,000 Oscar de la Renta gown that showed off her stunning figure. If you’re wondering how such a classic number could fetch that price tag, take a look at the hem: this velvet gown is embroidered with diamonds.

The Oscar de la Renta number was complemented by simple black stilettos, studded earrings and a necklace dripping with rubies. Others might be hesitant to opt for a simple look with sheer cut-outs and plunging necklines still popular among the celebrity elite, but Nicole’s natural beauty shone through.

Nicole wore her hair down, with new extensions flowing in natural waves around her shoulders. Her fair hair and skin were offset with the perfect shade of pink lipstick, emphasising the rosy glow in her cheeks.

The film and TV icon was recently named Australia’s richest actor by the Financial Review’s Rich List, with a net worth of $347 million.

Nicole didn’t just attend the CFDA to show off her amazing fashion sense; she also presented the top award of the night. The Womenswear Designer of the Year Award was taken out by Belgian fashion designer Raf Simons, who previously worked as the creative director at Christian Dior.

Even while standing aside after presenting the award, Nicole held the audience’s attention with her ethereal beauty.

This beautiful fashion statement has kicked off what’s sure to be a busy month for the Big Little Lies star. It’s hard to believe, but Nicole is just two weeks shy of her 50th birthday. On June 25, she’ll celebrate 11 years of marriage with Keith Urban.

Nicole is also currently in talks for a second season of Big Little Lies – something audiences have been clamouring for since the last episode of the mini-series aired in April. If another season of the Liane Moriarty drama means more public appearances by Nicole, we’ll be waiting on the edge of our seats for her next big fashion moment.
