Michelle and Barack show off their dance moves at the White House

Barack and Michelle Obama have only got a few more months left in the White House and they certainly aren’t wasting a moment of it!

The couple have hosted the annual BET Love and Happiness concert – an event they started eight years ago – and kicked off their shoes for a shimmy one last time.

The concert is a celebration of black artists and their contribution to music around the world and this year it took place in a giant tent on the South Lawn of the White House.

Barack gave a speech to kick off the night and quickly had everyone laughing about his dodgy dance moves.

He also spoke about how he and Michelle are huge music fans and how much they will miss being a part of concerts like this and all the other musical events they’ve hosted over the years.

“We’ve had Bob Dylan and we’ve had Jennifer Hudson. Gloria Estefan and Los Lobos. Aretha, Patti, Smokey,” Obama said. “I’ve had Paul McCartney singing ‘Michelle’ to Michelle and Stevie singing ‘Happy Birthday.’”

“We’ve had Buddy Guy and Mick Jagger getting me to sing ‘Sweet Home Chicago,’” he continued. “So this has been one of our favourite traditions, and it’s with a little bit of bittersweetness that this is our final musical evening as president and first lady.”

Once the concert kicked off both Michelle and Barack danced the night away in the front row as they watched this year’s performers belt out a tune.

They couple haven’t been afraid to bust a move in public ever since they took office. Their dance to Etta James’ ‘At Last’ at their first inauguration ball is somewhat legendary and earlier this year they did the tango while they were visiting Argentina!

Will you miss seeing them as president and first lady? Are you a fan of the couple?
