Memorial event for Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds to be shared around the world

A tribute for Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher has been planned for the public.

A public memorial will be held to allow fans a final chance to honour Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds.

The event has been scheduled for Saturday, March 25 at Forest Lawn cemetery in Hollywood, where both stars are buried.

A new tribute song by James Blunt, who was a close friend of Carrie, will be unveiled during a photo montage, although reports by TMZ say he won’t be in attendance at the event.

Carrie is the godmother of James’ child.

Other performances at the memorial will include the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles, and students from Debbie’s dance school.

Fans will be able to view the event as they are being streamed live on both Carrie and Debbie’s websites.

Carrie had a heart attack in-flight while traveling from London to Los Angeles on December 23.

She died four days later at the age of 60.

Debbie died of a stroke on December 28, one day after her daughter’s death. She was 84.

A private ceremony for the pair was held in January.
