Jennifer Grey finally “puts Baby in the corner”

It is hard to think of the film Dirty Dancing and not think about the iconic role of Baby Houseman played to perfection by actress Jennifer Grey. However, at the age of 56, she has snuffed out any idea that she will return as they are set to reboot Dirty Dancing for ABC.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, Jennifer told them “I was asked to do something on that show, and I was flattered because I always want to be asked because it’s nice to want to be included”. Continuing “But for me, it would be sacrosanct for me to do it because it didn’t feel appropriate to me.”

Jennifer added “”It feels like if you’re going to do your own thing, do your own thing. I wouldn’t say (what role was offered) but I will tell you, it wasn’t Baby!” It was the role that she made famous starring alongside the late Patrick Swayze. The roles of Baby and Johnny Caster will be played by actors Abigail Breslin and dancer Colt Prattes.

“I am always interested in any iteration of something where they feel there’s more to be gotten, and I would love to see what it is that they come up with,” Jennifer said. A huge fan of the stage show Hamilton Jennifer was excited to hear that the director of his was making this version of Dirty Dancing. Jennifer said “”I am always interested in any iteration of something where they feel there’s more to be gotten, and I would love to see what it is that they come up with”.
