Highlights from the NSW Seniors Festival

With the NSW Seniors Festival now complete, it’s time to look back on some of our favourite moments.

If you missed out on the hundreds of free seniors events held across the state, you can still take part! Starts at 60 was there to live stream some of the festival highlights, which you can now revisit below.

Premier’s Gala Concert

This lavishly-produced concert has been a festival highlight for 34 years running, and 2017 was no exception. This year’s show was a glorious tribute to the hits of the 50s, 60s and 70s, as performed by Kate Ceberano, Andrew O’Keefe, Damien Leith, Boys in the Band and The Diamonds.

Join us backstage as we chat with all the performers – and enjoy some exclusive impromptu song and dance numbers!

Rhythm Boat Stage Performances

All throughout the NSW Seniors Festival Expo, guests could enjoy a wonderfully varied series of performances. Here are two of our favourites: ABBA tribute band MAMAMIA and Elvis impersonator John Elvis Collins:

Comedy Debate

Is age just a number? 

Over 80 tremendously entertaining minutes, Australia’s top comedians debated this all-important question. Watch the video below to see some hilarious and surprisingly moving speeches from Mikey Robins, Mary Coustas (a.k.a. Effie), Jean Kittson, Vince Sorrenti, Joel Ozborn, Darren Carr and Debora Krizak.
