Gordon Ramsay questioned over the way he treats his kids

Gordon Ramsay doesn't let his wealth spoil his kids.

Gordon Ramsay is cooking up more controversy, but this time it is about the way he treats his kids.

While it is reported he earned around $54million US, Ramsay makes his kids earn their own money by helping out at charities.

“I’ve never been really turned on about the money,” he said.

“That’s not my number one objective, and that’s reflected in the way the kids are brought up.”

The father of four told The Telegraph he has no intention to leave his fortune to his kids in his will either.

“It’s definitely not going to them, and that’s not in a mean way; it’s to not spoil them.”

“I’ve been super lucky, having that career for the last 15 years in the US. Seriously, it has earned a fortune and I’ve been very lucky, so I respect everything I’ve got.”

As one of his rules, his kids are rarely allowed to eat in his restaurants, but there are many other ways Ramsay makes sure they don’t get the special treatment.

Even while travelling the kids don’t get any benefits.

“They don’t sit with us in first class. They haven’t worked anywhere near hard enough to afford that. At that age, at that size, you’re telling me they need to sit in first class? No, they do not. We’re really strict on that.”

The 50-year=old even said, in his usual eloquent way, that he requests the chief stewardess to make sure none of the kids come near him during a flight, so he can get some sleep.

Ramsay moved out of home when he was 16, and said father was an abusive alcoholic womaniser.

While his own kids don’t live like he did growing up, Ramsay said they get pocket money and with that have to pay for their own phones, bus fare and clothing.

“The earlier you give them that responsibility to save for their own trainers and jeans, the better.”

“They have a completely different life than I did growing up. I worked my arse off to get out of the s— mess that I grew up in and they’re grateful, they’re not spoilt.
