We’ve heard of couples with matching tattoos.
Even couples who dress alike is fast becoming “on trend” but imagine getting a Hollywood Walk of Fame star right next to your beloved.
Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell were honoured in a special joint ceremony today after nearly 50 years in show business.
The famous couple has been together for more than three decades, making them quite the paradox by Hollywood’s standards.
But that didn’t stop Tinsel Town from honouring the duo — neither of which has showed signs of slowing down.
Hawn, 71, currently stars in Snatched with funny It Girl of the moment Amy Schumer, who said she asked the famous blonde what the couple’s secret to longevity was.
“You have to want to stay together is what she always says,” Schumer told People magazine.
“It’s like two people have to want to be in it.
“You can’t work on that, either you want to be together or you don’t.”
Russell’s career is also making a resurgence.
The father of four stars in not one, but two, Hollywood blockbusters this year: The Fate of the Furious (part of The Fast and Furious franchise) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, the much anticipated sequel.
Earlier this week, Russell, 66, spoke to US-talk show Conan O’Brien about his “terrible” pick-up line when he and Hawn first met as adults in 1983.
“I was severely hungover…and I didn’t know Goldie at all outside of having worked with her many years before,” Russell told O’Brien.
“I just didn’t know in my mind what I was going to see. [Goldie] had a great body, and so the first thing that came out was ‘Man, you got a great figure.’ And it kind of came out quickly and it could’ve been wrong and she said, ‘Why thank you’.”
The pair initially crossed paths in 1966 on the set of the Disney film, The One and Only, Genuine Original Family Band when Russell was 16.
Last month, Russell shared with talk show host Harry Connick, Jr. the hilarious details of the couple’s first date which included being sprung by cops while doing the horizontal tango.
The couple have four children together: Kate and Oliver Hudson, and Wyatt and Boston Russell.
They’ve also appeared in two films together: Swing Shaft (1984) and Overboard (1987).
