Barnaby Joyce vs Johnny Depp: the battle continues!

The bad blood between Johnny Depp and Barnaby Joyce doesn’t look like it’s going away any time soon…

The actor and Barnaby clashed when Johnny and his wife, actress Amber Heard, were visiting Australia last year and unknowingly brought their two dogs, Pistol and Boo, into the country illegally.

Barnaby, who at the time was the Minister for Agriculture, jumped on the issue straight away and declared on national radio that he would euthanise the dogs as punishment for “smuggling” them into the country.

“Mr Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we’ll euthanise them,” the MP said during an interview on 3AW Radio.

“That’s the deal.

“And if people think that’s a bit harsh, well I’ll tell you what harsh is. Harsh is if we let down our guard and ultimately rabies gets into the country.”

As he walked the red carpet at the Grammy’s yesterday, Johnny was asked by an Australian reporter if he’d forgiven Barnaby yet and if he still loved Australia.

“Of course, I love Australia!” He said.

“I think that guy, Barnaby, he invited me to stay at his house for some reason.”

Johnny had previously spoken about the issue on a popular late night talk show in America, telling the audience that Barnaby was a “weird, sweaty-pated gut man”.

He also said that if he or his wife were arrested over the incident, he would “fly to Australia and assault that man (Joyce)”.

Johnny’s wife Amber is set to appear at Southport Magistrates Court in Queensland on April 12 over the incident.
Australia’s strict quarantine laws carry huge consequences if they are broken, with a maximum 10 years in prison and a $102,000 fine.

Did Johnny’s comments about Barnaby make you laugh? Or should he learn to face his mistake and get over it?
