It’s a far cry from the cool and confident wildlife warrior the world knows and loves today, but many fans of the Irwin family will recall the days when the now 16-year-old Robert Irwin was just a cheeky little kid running around after his energetic dad.

To reignite the memory for many Australians who followed the famous family from the very beginning, the youngest Irwin recently took to his Instagram to share some adorable snaps of himself as a baby pulling a few funny faces while hanging out in a swing. The caption read: “Baby Robert – circa 2004” meaning the youngster would have barely hit the one year old mark at the time.

The series of three photos get progressively cuter with the last shot showing a young Robert gazing up at the sky with a surprised look on his face. Commenters got a kick out of the pictures with one saying: “Love the hair and facial expressions” and another adding: “Trouble maker I think”.

Meanwhile, it’s hard not to relate the blonde hair blue eyed cutie to his late-father Steve Irwin as another commenter wrote: “So cute, looks so much like your father”. Robert’s older sister Bindi even weighed in on the topic, sharing some love with her comment: “Aaaaand I’m crying happy tears again!”

And while also jumping on the throwback train, Bindi took to Instagram this morning to share a hilarious blooper reel from her dad’s iconic TV show The Crocodile Hunter. The minute-long video shows Steve hilariously trying and failing to introduce the zoo the family owns and operates in Queensland known as Australia Zoo.

The heartfelt caption from Bindi read: “Crocodile Hunter Bloopers. I love this video so much. Dad’s face makes me laugh every time!”

Steve’s tragic and untimely death in 2006 from a stingray incident is clearly still felt by his fans all over the world with people flooding the comments of the video with warm wishes to send to Bindi, Robert, Terri and the rest of the Irwin family.

One commenter wrote: “What a blessing to have so much footage to remember him. Sending love to your family!” while another added: “The billboard looks so much like Robert it makes me teary-eyed. I always knew Robert looks like him but not quite that much. I miss your dad. Congratulations on carrying on his legacy!”
