They’ve been married since 2011 and have known each other for more than 20 years and if a new video is anything to go by, there’s still plenty of spark between Prince William and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.
Earlier this week, the young royal couple touched down in Cyprus to greet RAF personnel and it didn’t take long for Prince William’s cheeky side to come out. As the pair were photographed with service personnel at RAF Akrotir in front of a giant Christmas tree, the Duke of Cambridge joked that his wife’s outfit was very similar to the festive tree she was posing in front of.
For the particular outing, the 36-year-old had opted for a pair of flared navy trousers and a tight white t-shirt, but it was her choice of green blazer that really got William going.
“Do you want me to move out of the photo?” the Prince quipped as he and his wife stood in front of the Christmas tree. “My wife’s camouflaged against the tree.”
Prince William laughed at his own joke as the crowd also erupted in laughter. Catherine’s blazer by Canadian designer Smythe is reportedly worth £666 (AU$1,177, US$848). It was also one of the first times the Duchess of Cambridge had opted smart suit trousers in public.

While she has been spotted in jeans and jeggings in the past, Catherine’s usual preferred style is classy dresses and skirts.
During the festivities, the pair spoke about the importance of family and how important it was for them to acknowledge the hard work and effort the British Armed Forces put in all year round. It’s a topic very close to Prince William’s heart, particularly because he spent time in uniform in the past.
“But as we approach Christmas, Catherine and I feel strongly that praise for your work and recognition of your sacrifices is exactly what is due to you all,” he said during a touching speech. “From my time in uniform, we both know a bit of what it feels like to balance your work commitments with your family life.
“You all put duty first. And so do your families, some of whom we had the chance to meet yesterday at a party at Kensington Palace. We know this isn’t easy for you or for your wives, husbands, children, and friends back in the UK. But on behalf of everyone back home, we would like to say thank you.”
“I told George this morning we were going to see the pilots today, and he said, ‘If you see a helicopter can you take a picture?’” Prince William said, according to Harpers Bazaar.
