She announced her own engagement just last month and Princess Beatrice looked smitten on Saturday as she stepped out to attend a prestigious royal wedding in Paris, France, alongside her husband-to-be Edoardo ‘Edo’ Mapelli Mozzi.

The loved-up couple, who have been dating for less than a year, but have known each other for years, took a break from their own wedding planning over the weekend to attend the nuptials of Prince Jean-Christophe Napoleon Bonaparte (Emperor Napoleon’s great-great-great nephew) and his bride Countess Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinnerberg.

Beatrice and Edo looked smitten as they posed for photographs on the stairs outside the venue, Les Invalides, as the 31-year-old princess wrapped her arm around her fiance, who popped the question in Italy in September.

The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York looked stunning for the special outing, wearing a silk patterned dress that fell to her knees and featured an intricate floral design in shades of pink, green and yellow. Wrapping up against the cold European weather, Beatrice draped a pale blue trench coat over her shoulders.

The Queen’s granddaughter completed the look with a pair of black heeled Mary Jane shoes and a pale pink wide-brimmed hat. Meanwhile Edo donned a traditional morning suit, with a waistcoat that perfectly matched his fiancee’s powder blue coat.

The Duke and Duchess of York confirmed the news of Beatrice and Edo’s engagement in September, before a series of sweet photographs – taken by Princess Eugenie – were released to the public, showing the happy couple shortly after the momentous occasion in Italy.

The couple also released a statement, which read: “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married.

“We share so many similar interests and values and we know that this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”

Beatrice and Edo will tie the knot in 2020 and there was initial speculation that they would say ‘I do’ overseas in Italy, where they became engaged and Edo’s family descend from. However the bride-to-be’s mother Sarah Ferguson has since rubbished those claims, saying it “can only be Britain” due to Beatrice’s royal as a member of the royal family.

Fergie has also spoken out about her joy over the upcoming wedding, revealing she has known her soon-to-be son-in-law since he was just four-years old.

“It’s just extraordinary, she’s just such a beauty and to see her eyes shining…” Fergie told the Press Association, according to Hello! magazine.

“Edo, I’ve known him all my life. His brother is my godson. I forgot to tell you that,” she added. “Alby is my godson and I’m so proud. I’ve known Edo since he was four, and he’s got a lovely mum, Nikki. It’s really, really good news. I’m really, really proud of them both.”
