There are just a few months left to wait before the most anticipated baby of the year arrives, as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prepare to welcome their first child together, almost one year after they tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Windsor Castle.
The royal couple attended the Endeavour Fund Awards in London on Thursday night, where one royal reporter overheard Meghan gushing over her husband’s potential parenting skills with fellow guests.
Chris Ship, who works for British broadcaster ITV, shared the sweet exchange on social media, writing: “Meghan said of Harry: ‘He’s gonna be the best dad!'”
The broadcast journalist also revealed that Harry commented on the size of his wife’s precious cargo, describing their first child as “a heavy baby”.
The royal couple were the picture of married bliss as they arrived hand-in-hand at the ceremony yesterday, which is held to honour the achievements of wounded, injured and sick military veterans.
Despite being heavily pregnant, the duchess looked sensational in a stylish monochrome outfit by Givenchy, who were also responsible for her stunning wedding gown last May.
The former actress, 37, looked sensational in the floor-length black skirt, which featured a daring split up the side, finishing around her waist and coupled with a loose white shirt.
It isn’t the first time the sweet pair have spoken about their impending arrival though, as last month Meghan revealed her due date to fans who had turned out to see the duke and duchess in Birkenhead, UK, during an official royal engagement.
According to sources who were within earshot, Meghan told the crowds that their baby was due at the end of April/beginning of May and revealed that they have chosen not to find out the gender of their first child as “they want a surprise”.
#DukeAndDuchessOfSussex wow the crowds in Hamilton square, Birkenhead. #Meghan told wellwishers she’s six months pregnant and is due end of April/start of May. She also said they didn’t know whether #babysussex is a girl or a boy as they want a surprise! 👶🏼 pic.twitter.com/rWU8ItYGvH

Harry and Meghan, who have been married for almost nine months, are getting ready to move out of their current residence, Kensington Palace, this year into Frogmore Cottage, which was gifted to them by the Queen in preparation for the arrival of their baby.
