The Duchess of Sussex rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to fashion and Catherine debuted yet another stunning look on Tuesday night as she arrived at a glamorous evening reception in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad alongside her husband Prince William.

The 37-year-old royal looked sensational in a dazzling green gown by British wedding dress designer Jenny Packham, as she arrived at the event hosted by the British Commissioner to Pakistan Thomas Drew, rounding off their first full day of the five-day trip.

Catherine cut a stunning figure in the slim-fitting emerald gown, which was adorned from head to toe in sequins, completing the elegant look with an elaborate scarf in the same shade of green draped over her left shoulder, in another nod to the country’s culture. Prince William also coordinated his outfit with his wife, donning a traditional sherwani, in a similar colour, by Karachi-based designer Naushemian.

While the couple made a glamorous appearance on the red carpet at the country’s National Monument, it was their mode of transport that set the most tongues wagging as the royal pair pulled up to the event in a very brightly coloured rickshaw, as they continue to embrace all that Pakistan’s culture has to offer on their first trip to the Islamic nation.

A video shared on the official Kensington Royal Instagram page shows the Cambridges clambering out of the tuk tuk, driven by a very smartly dressed driver, which was decorated with vibrant paintings of wildlife and floral patterns.

Prince William also delivered a speech at the event, discussing the country’s dramatic change over the past 72 years and mentioning his late mother and father’s previous trips to Pakistan.

“I would like to begin by saying bahut shukria to you all for making us so welcome in your country,” Prince William said. “Stood here with this magnificent monument behind me, I am struck by the great strides Pakistan has made since its birth seventy-two years ago.

“The view from this hill would have been quite different when my grandmother, The Queen, first visited over half a century ago. Looking out, one would have seen the beginnings of a city under construction, yet to become the great capital that it is today.

“And with successive visits by my mother and my father, this view has continued to change, with the city constantly growing and with it my family’s affection for Pakistan.”

Earlier in the day, Kate and William met with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan – whom the duke has known since he was a child as the politician was good friends with the late Princess Diana – along with President Arif Alvi. The former international cricketer, 67, became prime minister in August 2018.

Following the meeting, Kensington Palace shared several images of the Cambridges with the prime minister, and wrote: “Meeting the Prime Minister and President of Pakistan — The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge called on Prime Minister @ImranKhan.pti and President @Dr.ArifAlvi, where they offered their thanks for the warm welcome they have received in Pakistan.”

For this outing Kate wore green once again, this time opting for a green tunic by Catherine Walker and white trousers by Maheen Khan, according to Hello! She completed the laid-back look with dark green stilettos and a matching clutch bag.
