An innocent question has sparked a fiery debate among passionate homeowners: how is the cutlery drawer arranged in your kitchen? A Reddit user posted the hard-hitting query on Tuesday, and it’s since received hundreds of furious replies.
The user wrote: “My whole life I’ve gone with the (L-R) fork, knife, spoon configuration (teaspoons below) but have stayed places where knives are on the far left.
“What’s the set-up at your place?”
Commentators were quick to point the ‘correct’ way utensils should be stored, with one writing: “Large knives, knives, forks, spoons, teaspoons at the bottom and then other two draws a mess of utensils until you have a clean out every three years.”
It seems this was the most popular response given, with one user writing: “This is the standard my household follows.” Another added: “Concur with this. The rest is madness.”
There were also those who didn’t follow any plan, with one user writing: “I just throw them all in the drawer together, no organisation, pure chaos.”
Another question was thrown into the mix, with someone asking which way round the cutlery was put in the drawer.
“Hold up, do you place the head of the cutlery towards the drawer handle or the back of the drawer?” They asked.
Some people couldn’t believe that such a question was asked, with one writing: “What sort of animal would arrange the handles towards the back of the drawer?” Another added: “If all the handles are at the front then all forks, knives and spoons look the same.”
It comes after a simple photo featuring a mop of frizzy black hair sent the internet into chaos with people trying to figure out the truth behind the head-scratching image.
While there are many optical illusions around, this one really has baffled the young and old as they argue whether the hair is actually on someone’s neck or back. Published on Twitter, the photo has received thousands of comments and shares with most utterly confused by what they do or don’t see in the photograph.
Some people see a head of short curly hair on a long neck, others are convinced it’s long hair on someone’s back. Although the majority are in favour of the first option, it turns out they are wrong.
