Grant Hackett proves the Aussie sense of humour isn’t dead

Grant Hackett has laughed off comedian Dave Hughes' joke about him.

It seems these days people can be easily offended, and many lament that we’re losing our Aussie sense of humour.

But not all is lost!

Remember when Grant Hackett was going through a tough time last year?

Well, a lot of people might have said not to make a joke about it.

But comedian Dave Hughes did at the Logies, and it shocked a lot of people.

“He’s a great Australian, but he’s been a bit whingey,” Hughesy joked.

“See him on Instagram, put a selfie of himself with a black eye and said, ‘Look what my brother did’. That’s what brothers do, Grant, be a dick and they give you a clip. Look on the bright side, you could be Kim Jong-un’s brother.”

Many questioned how Hackett would take it

Now, the swimming legend has responded and he’s being praised for showing he can take a joke.

Hughesy read out a message on his radio show that Hackett had sent him on Instagram.

“Hi Dave, hope you’re well, mate. I saw the press back home on the Logies. Just letting you know, all good from my end, bud,” Hackett wrote.

“I know it’s all lighthearted humour and if you can’t take the piss out of stuff then it’s almost un-Australian. I love your humour, I’m sure I’ll see you around the place. All the very best, Hacky.”

Looks like the Aussie sense of humour isn’t dead just yet!

What do you think of Grant Hackett’s response? Is it refreshing to see someone take a joke?
