A grandfather who was allegedly brutally attacked by a stranger while helping his neighbour last week has spoken out saying he thought he was going to die during the violent rampage near his home in Perth.
Mike Willison was bringing in his neighbours’ bin last Thursday morning when he was allegedly strangled and bashed, 9News reports. The bashing was so severe that the 68-year-old grandfather needed plastic surgery.
Speaking to 9News about the terrible incident, Mike said: “I’m gone, I was dead and when he put his hands in my mouth and tried to rip my mouth apart.
“Then he started strangling me and I couldn’t breathe, I shouted out ‘help,’ but I wasn’t loud enough, no one could hear me.”

The retired prison officer added: “I asked him: ‘don’t kill me,’ whether he heard me or not.”
The 68-year-old said the man repeatedly punched him before having part of his ear bitten off in the random attack.
It is not clear what caused the man to stop bashing the grandfather, but he was taken to hospital where he underwent plastic surgery, during a three-night stay.
“No one deserves this, not when you’re going about your daily business,” he added.
