The federal court handed down its ruling on the life insurance of Allison Baden-Clay today after months of speculation.

The judge ruled that Allison’s life insurance policies will go to her three daughters and that her husband and killer Gerard Baden-Clay will not receive a cent, reports News Corp.

Justice Alfred Dowsett said the life insurance policies would be included in Allison’s estate, which is under the control of her father.

Today’s brief hearing followed a court ruling in February that saw Allison’s parents Priscilla and Geoffrey handed full control of her life insurance payout and superannuation after making an uncontested application in the Brisbane Supreme Court.

Although Gerard was listed as the beneficiary of Allison’s will, Justice Peter Applegarth concluded he had no right to claim it following his conviction.

“Gerard Robert Baden-Clay is not entitled to obtain or receive any benefit that he would have otherwise obtained or received arising from the death of the deceased,” he said at the time.

Allison’s parents now have full custody of the pair’s three daughters.

Gerard Baden-Clay is serving a life sentence for Allison’s murder with a non-parole period of 15 years.
