Pierce Brosnan pens sweet message to ‘darling angel’ wife on 26th anniversary

They are one of Hollywood’s most loved-up couples and prefer to keep their relationship away from the spotlight, with their joint appearances on the red carpet becoming scarce in recent years. However James Bond star Pierce Brosnan got vocal this week as he penned a romantic message to his wife Keely Shaye Smith on social media.

The 66-year-old Irish actor opened up in honour of the couple’s 26th anniversary, as he shared a throwback photograph of himself and Keely on Instagram on Friday.

“My darling angel heart Keely, thank you for bringing such love and beauty into my life, for making these past twenty six years the greatest joy of my life,” Pierce wrote.

Along with a heart emoji, he added: “Happy anniversary my brown eyed girl.”

Many people commented on the post to wish the couple a happy anniversary, with many commenting on Keely’s beauty. One person wrote: “She is so beautiful. Happy anniversary.”

Another fan wrote: “Happy Anniversary! You’re both such beautiful people! I admire the love and respect you seem to hold for each other. May you both continue to have many, many more years together.” While another commented: “Happy Anniversary to the both of you… she’s gorgeous Pierce.”

Their last public appearance was in January when they stepped out for the 77th annual Golden Globes in Los Angeles. American journalist Keely looked sensational for the outing in a flowing black gown which featured an intricate floral pattern all over the skirt, made up of tiny sparkling black sequins, and a plunging neckline which showed off her natural curves.

The couple stepped out to support their sons Paris and Dylan who were named Golden Globe Ambassadors at this year’s ceremony, making history by becoming the first brothers to be named ambassadors.

The couple tied the knot in 2001, seven years after first meeting on a beach in Mexico in 1994. Their romance blossomed juts before Brosnan made his debut as womanising British spy 007 in 1995’s Goldeneye.

Pierce and Keely, 56, share sons Paris, 19, and Dylan, 23, together, while Pierce shared three children with his first wife Cassandra Harris, who sadly died in 1991 as a result of ovarian cancer.

Pierce adopted Harris’ two children, Charlotte and Christopher, from a previous marriage, following the death of their father in 1986, and the couple also welcomed son Sean together. However Charlotte tragically passed away in 2013 from ovarian cancer, at the age of just 42.
