Aussie superstar Olivia Newton-John has proved just how strong she is, speaking out in an candid interview about how she maintains a positive outlook on life amid her continuous battle with cancer.

In a new interview with People magazine, the 70-year-old revealed that she has spent the past six months recovering from a cancer-induced pelvic fracture.

Following false news that she had just weeks to live, the Grease star told the magazine she fractured her pelvis back in September when she felt severe pain while taking part in a cancer walk for her Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in Melbourne.

However, Olivia remains optimistic despite challenges.

“I never say ‘Why me.’ I was like, ‘Wow, I’m in my hospital that I’d dreamt of building for people to have rest and peace and there I was getting the best care,'” she said. “It was quite magical.”

Olivia was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, which later returned in 2013. She’s now in the midst of treating stage 4 breast cancer, which has also spread to her sacrum.

When asked how she’s doing these days, she says, “I’m feeling good, just getting stronger. I’m just living life and figuring out what’s next. I know there will be something.”

Her latest comments come after she was forced to prove she was alive and doing well after news reports wrongly claimed she had just weeks to live.

Radar Online reported that the 70-year-old’s body was shutting down. Shortly after, an array of other news outlets claimed sources close to the iconic entertainer had told them Olivia had just weeks, and not months, to live.

Putting the rumours to bed, a healthy and happy looking Olivia shared a video on her Facebook page the next day, explaining to fans what was really going on with her health, yet she admitted to People that the rumours rocked both her and her friends..

“My friends were calling and believing this stuff. I had to say, ‘You really think if it was that bad you wouldn’t know?'”
