Johnny Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard has laid out a series of harrowing abuse claims against the Hollywood actor in an explosive court filing obtained by The New York Post’s Page Six.

The actress, 32, reportedly alleges in the court document that Depp, 55, would become “a totally different person, often delusional and violent” on drugs and alcohol – leading to her branding that version of him “The Monster”.

The filing came in response to Depp’s $50 million defamation lawsuit against his former wife, after she wrote a 2018 op-ed for the Washington Post claiming she was the victim of domestic violence. However, she did not name the actor in the piece.

Depp has furiously denied the claims and, in his lawsuit, he reportedly labelled the allegations “an elaborate hoax”.

Now, in her latest court filing, Page Six reports that Heard alleges Depp beat and choked her on several occasions during their four year relationship – before their divorce after 15 months of marriage in May 2016.

According to the news outlet, Heard claimed in the legal document that she first witnessed his alleged substance abuse around a year into their relationship.

“Whenever he was using, I worried for both of us,” she is said to have written. Meanwhile, appearing to reference Depp’s denials of the alleged incidents, she added: “‘Johnny often would not remember his delusional and violent conduct after he came out of his drunk or medicated states.”

She goes on to describe a morning in May 2014 when she claims she saw Depp get onboard a private jet from Boston to Los Angeles holding a bottle of champagne – claiming he appeared drunk.

Heard reportedly then alleges that her then-husband ordered flight attendants to give him an oxygen tank, while he continued to drink – with the actress claiming he was upset that she had been filming a romantic scene with actor James Franco the day before.

“Soon, Johnny began to throw objects at me. Instead of reacting to his behavior (sic), I simply moved seats. That didn’t stop him. He provocatively pushed a chair at me as I walked by, yelled at me, and taunted me by yelling out the name ‘James Franco’,” the news outlet reports she said in the document.

She reportedly added: “At some point, I stood up, and Johnny kicked me in the back, causing me to fall over. Johnny threw his boot at me while I was on the ground. Johnny continued to scream obscenities until he went into the plane bathroom and passed out locked in the bathroom for the remainder of the flight.”

Heard claimed that he later apologised by text message, referring to his “illness” and vowing it wouldn’t happen again.

The actress goes on to describe other alleged incidents in which she claims Depp pushed, hit and choked her, including another alleged encounter on a flight.

Describing one “three-day ordeal, Heard apparently said: “In one of the most horrific and scariest moments of this three-day ordeal, Johnny grabbed me by the neck and collarbone and slammed me against the countertop. I struggled to stand up as he strangled me, but my arms and feet kept slipping and sliding on to the spilled alcohol and were dragged against the broken glass on the countertop and floor, which repeatedly slashed my feet and arms. Scared for my life, I told Johnny: ‘You are hurting me and cutting me’.”

Depp continues to deny the allegations against him. In his defamation lawsuit, his lawyers reportedly said: “Mr. Depp never abused Ms. Heard. Her allegations against him were false when they were made in 2016. They were part of an elaborate hoax to generate positive publicity for Ms. Heard and advance her career.”
