Hollywood star Harrison Ford has shared his secret to a happy marriage, in the lead up to his 10 year anniversary with loving wife Calista Flockhart.

The pair tied the knot in June 2010, and have been going strong ever since. Now, in speaking to publication Parade, the actor has said it’s all because of a few simple rules he follows.

Offering some marriage advice Ford said, “don’t talk” and instead, “nod your head”. Meanwhile, he also suggests do what your wife says and get your chores done. Describing them as his “honey do’s”, the 77-year-old said it frees up time to focus on the things you love.

“Well, if my chores are done and there’s nothing more pressing and the weather’s good, I’ll go flying – I love to fly up there – or walk in the woods, do some work, ride my road bike or mountain bike,” Ford told Parade.

This isn’t the first time the couple have opened up about their relationship and the reason why it’s so successful. Back in 2017, Flockhart explained how they’ve managed to keep the spark alive over the course of their relationship, despite their 22-year age gap.

“The truth is, I sometimes feel very much older than Harrison,” she said during an interview. “Harrison and I laugh a lot, and humour is everything to me.”

The pair met at the 2002 Golden Globe awards and married after eight years together. They also share a son – Liam Flockhart, whom the actress adopted in 2001. Speaking about his fathering nature, Flockhart said: “Harrison is a wonderful parent. He’s funny and warm and loving.”

The couple have been head over heels since they first met and in 2003, just one year after meeting, Ford told publication Hello! he wasn’t surprised their love had flourished.

“Romantic love is one of the most exciting and fulfilling kinds of love and I think there is a potential for it at any stage of your life,” he said. “I was not surprised that I was able to fall in love, and I wasn’t surprised that I did.”
