She’s set to star in the eagerly-anticipated third season of The Crown.
And British actress, Olivia Colman, 44, turned heads in an all-black ensemble as she stepped out at the Venice Film Festival on Thursday. Olivia stunned in the stylish jumpsuit, looking every bit the leading lady that she is.
The talented actress cut an effortlessly regal figure in the gorgeous jumpsuit which featured billowing sleeves. Standing tall, Olivia chose to pair the ensemble with grey heels, adding some glitz with an eye-catching silver necklace.
She wore her short brunette locks in soft waves and kept her makeup to a minimum, which included a soft blush and red lips.
Meanwhile, her on-screen predecessor Claire Foy, 34, also made an appearance at the Festival on Thursday in a sleeveless, collared black and white frock.
Claire, who played the lead on the Netflix drama for its first two seasons, is passing the role to Olivia as the entire cast changes to portray the plot’s jump forward in time.
Other cast replacements include Tobias Menzies from Outlander, who will take over from Matt Smith and Prince Phillip, while Helena Bonham Carter will step into the role of Princess Margaret, replacing Vanessa Kirby.
In July, Netflix released the first photo of Olivia as the Queen. The solo shot of the actress shows her in character and sipping tea at a table in one of the palace’s extravagant rooms.
The third season which is currently in production, is expected to premier in 2019. The show will pick up where season two left off in 1964 and will cover the Queen’s life through the early 1970’s.
