Richard Wilkins’ girlfriend Virginia Burmeister left little to the imagination for Wednesday’s Aria Awards in Sydney as she stepped out in a racy gown with a plunging neckline and thigh-high split.
Accompanied by her long-term boyfriend, the dancer and model’s dress clung to her curves as she posed on the red carpet at the star-studded event.
To make the most of the show-stopping frock, she kept her hair in a simple low ponytail and wore understated pearl earrings and carried a clutch in a champagne colour to match her dress.
Veteran showbiz reporter and Today Extra host Richard gave his midnight-blue tuxedo a modern edge by choosing tight-fitting trousers to go with the traditional jacket and bowtie.
The couple almost outshone, though, by Richard’s son, Christian, who’d donned a typically eclectic ensemble, putting baby pink trousers, transparent shirt, elaborate blazer and a bright red cowboy hat together for the do. Richard is a dad to five children, Adam, Nick, Christian, Rebecca and Estella.
During the event, Richard shared a sweet snap of the threesome, alongside Channel 9’s wardrobe stylist Beck Wilson, on Instagram. “How good is a family night out at the #ARIAs? We’re celebrating some of Australia’s biggest and best artists tonight on,” he wrote.
Many fans were quick to comment on the gorgeous snap, with one writing: “Good looking bunch you lot are!”. Another added, “You all look gorgeous.”
Richard and Virginia regularly attend glamorous events together. They stepped out together for the Australian premiere of The Secret Life of Pets 2 in June.
For that film premiere, Virginia worked the camera in a fashionable pair of black skinny jeans, a black silky blouse and a trendy blazer. The 50-year-old blonde accessorised with a pair of leather shoes, a chunky belt and a necklace, while Richard, 65, kept it cool and stylish in an all-black black suit and white unbuttoned shirt.
Richard currently remains a fixture on Aussie TV screens, making the switch from Today to Today Extra earlier this year. But following the departure of Georgie Gardner, Sonia Kruger and Tom Steinfort from Today in recent weeks and the impending return of ousted host Karl Stefanovic, it’s not clear what 2020 holds for the long-time entertainment reporter.
