Princess Mary was a vision in white as she stepped out for her second event of 2020 in a stunning ball gown alongside her doting husband Prince Frederik.

Just hours after attending the Danish royal family’s traditional New Year’s celebration, the 47-year-old did an outfit change into one of her most loved dresses. The gown, which Mary also wore for New Year events in 2015 and 2016, featured long sleeves and a flowing skirt which fell gracefully to the floor.

The princess paired it with a thin pale pink belt around her waist and white gloves to match with the elegant ensemble. At one stage during the outing, which was held at Christianborg Castle, Mary wore a chic cream coat over the top to keep warm in the chilly Denmark weather.

Meanwhile, she sported a beautiful pearl necklace and earrings and kept her beautiful brunette locks out of her face with a half-up hair do.

Mary attended the diplomatic reception with her husband Frederik who dressed in a black military uniform with medals pinned to his chest. The event is one of many the couple will make an appearance at in coming days with plans to gather with officers of the Armed Forces and the Emergency Management Agency.

Photos of Mary and Frederik from the most recent event have since been shared to the Danish royal family’s Instagram page. And it didn’t take long for royal fans to compliment the two.

“The most beautiful crown princess in the world!” @mkrogh86 wrote.

“Great family! A very happy New Year to all of them. Please take good care of yourselves!” @ed_nl67 said.

“Crown Princess Mary is simply so beautiful!” @louise_siig added.

The couple’s appearance at the event comes after the pair attended the Danish royal family’s traditional New Year’s reception at Amalienborg Palace in Denmark. Princess Mary put on an elegant display for the outing, stepping out in a stunning burgundy gown adorned with jewels.

The Aussie-born royal looked picture perfect in the floor-length dress, which was complete with diamonds and rubies. Mary pulled her brunette locks away from her face in a low bun, while she wore a stunning tiara on top her head. She smiled broadly for cameras outside the palace with a touch of blush on her cheeks and a pink lip adding a further pop of colour.

The mother-of-four was joined by her husband Frederik who wore a formal black military uniform with gold detailing and buttons. Both Mary and Frederik also sported the Order of the Elephant for the special occasion.

The Danish order dates back to the 1400s and it considered Denmark’s highest-ranked honour.
