Princess Mary swapped fancy ball gowns for a bold power suit this week as she arrived at the Rigshospitalet for a visit to the hospital’s heart surgery section in Copenhagen, Denmark on Thursday.

The mother-of-four perfected the smouldering business look in a tailored navy jacket and matching pants with a silk blouse underneath. She added a pop of colour to her ensemble with a pair of purple velvet heels and accessorised with some sparkly earrings.

Looking confident and classy, Prince Frederik’s wife kept her brunette locks down and straight for the outing. Meanwhile, she kept her makeup to a minimum with a light pink lip and a swipe of blush on her cheeks.

The princess went solo for the visit where she met with the hospital’s staff and learned how to perform mock heart surgery on an artificial torso.

It’s been a busy few days for Mary, who, earlier in the week, was joined by husband Prince Frederik on a visit to Poland.

The mother-of-four proved that simple, classic styles are still a winner when she stepped out in a burgundy velvet dress for a concert in Warsaw at the Danish Cultural Institute on Monday. She paired the ballerina-style frock with studded black heels and some sparkly earrings.

With her brunette locks falling just over her shoulder, Princess Mary looked pretty and far younger than her 47 years. Frederik looked equally as stylish for the night out, wearing a navy suit and a burgandy tie to match his wife’s outfit.

The couple spent the evening listening to Polish children perform Danish songs, as well as a performance by talented 15-year-old Polish violinist Antoni Figurski who played the song ‘Tango Jealously’.

Earlier in the day, the Danish royal couple met with Polish President Andrzej Duda and first lady Agata Kornhauser-Duda for the 100th anniversary of the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Poland.

For the daytime event, Mary sported a loose-fitting powder-blue trench coat over a knee-length skirt in the same colour and a patterned, silky blouse. She wore nude heels for the outing and carried a nude clutch.

The couple have spent the past few days in Poland as part of an official visit to the country to commemorate the centenary of the resumption of diplomatic relations between Denmark and Poland following the war.
